In Da Zone

In Da Zone was created for my Advanced Game Design Specialization Group Project. It is a collaboration of our Student-Based Gaming Company which can be found here. The main focus for myself in this project was to create good code with the best practices in mind in order to prove myself in my portfolio. I believe I did this whilst also implementing some of the main mechanics in the game such as:

  • Paint Mechanic

    • Enum based class category, adding a new class is as easy as adding a new Enum.

    • Paint automatically spawns with player name & class.

    • Paint automatically changes color based on player enum class.

    • Paint is scalable to environment spawned.

  • Dynamic Environment Change based on amount of map mainted

    • Included some small Level design change by splitting the track in 4

    • Automatic checker connected to the paint mechanic which spawns paint automatically tagged to player class & name.

  • Point System

    • With dynamic UI and programmaticly updates based on number of players and their respective classes.

  • Character Selection Screen Logic

    • That sets the player class based on player 1 /2's choice and spawns them in game.

These mechanics were all implemented to be reusable, extensible, mantianable and standalone if needed.
