Design Challenge:
Design an online puzzle based game to enable the attendees of Night of the Nerds digital event to solve puzzles relating to hacking in an Escape room game built in Unity (WebGL).
This was one of the first games I ever made for somebody else and was the result of my first semester of Game Design study. We created very simple educational puzzles as a team which combined into a puzzle room that players needed to complete in order to escape from. The part I focused on was the Terminal FTP Hacking Based Puzzle & Implementing the online multiplayer for all our puzzles.
Night of the Nerds is an event held yearly by FutureBit's to showcase new technology to young engineers. Future Bites would like us to develop a videogame for their event, Night of the Nerds. Players of the game will have to get past several challenges, and puzzles in order to complete the levels. The puzzles will involve educating the players and to create awareness about the threats of hacking.
How can we make a puzzle in an existing game that not only fits the existing aesthetic of the game but also provides valuable insights to the players about the dangers of hacking.
